The activities carried out by the Meteorological Measurement Service and Wind Resource Assessment Consultancy form an integral part of the design process of the wind farm.
The design of the wind farm takes into account not only the maximization of energy production but also environmental and other restrictions.
Once WTGS positions have been defined, the type and sub-type of the turbine required at each site is assessed in accordance with the requirements of IEC regulation.
Parameters to be taken into account in order to do this are:
- Annual average wind
- Speed at each position.
- Wind speed distribution.
- Turbulence, and in addition to the influence of orography, wakes and separation distances between the wind turbine generators.
